About MERLIN
Responsibility begins where standard solutions end.
MERLIN helps companies tackle complex technical challenges with an integrated approach. We combine technical expertise, quality management, international sourcing and operational execution to deliver solutions that go far beyond simply supplying products or services.

Reliable operation of critical IT systems, a continuous supply of components and the long-term continuity of production and service processes all depend on many interrelated factors. Technical, organizational and regulatory requirements therefore need to be considered together. What may initially look like a procurement issue can quickly become a matter of security of supply, compliance or business continuity.

That is why our customers are rarely looking for just a product or a service. They are looking for a partner who takes responsibility and delivers solutions they can rely on over the long term.
Expertise develops through collaboration
Complex technical challenges can rarely be solved within a single discipline today. Engineering, procurement, quality management, logistics and IT are increasingly interconnected and need to be aligned from an early stage.

At MERLIN, these areas of expertise therefore work together rather than side by side. Alongside specialists with deep subject-matter expertise, we deliberately rely on experienced generalists who see the bigger picture, connect different disciplines and guide projects end to end.

This results in solutions that take technical, commercial and organizational requirements into account from the outset. For our customers, that means a single point of contact, faster decision-making and the confidence that even complex issues are considered as a whole.
Quality creates trust
Trust is built on transparent results and working relationships customers can rely on over the long term.

At MERLIN, a quality management system certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 provides the organizational framework. What matters, however, is how quality is put into practice day to day: through dedicated contacts, documented processes, clear work instructions and checklists, and a two-person review process in sensitive areas.

Ongoing communication with customers and suppliers, fast decision-making and an open approach to feedback allow lessons learned to feed directly into our processes. We see constructive criticism as an important driver of continuous improvement. For us, quality is therefore not a final check, but an integral part of our day-to-day work.
Reliable partnerships create solutions
Complex procurement challenges can rarely be solved through catalogs or standard product ranges alone. They require experience, strong relationships and the ability to work with the right contacts at different levels.

Over more than three decades, we have built international relationships that go far beyond conventional supplier contacts. Direct dialogue with manufacturers, developers, procurement teams and specialist partners allows us to assess technical issues early and develop viable solutions even for demanding sourcing requirements. What matters is not simply the number of contacts, but the quality of the collaboration and continuous personal exchange – from technical coordination with developers to working with procurement teams and decision-makers.

This network allows us to develop solutions even where standard sourcing channels reach their limits or new requirements call for a tailored approach.
Two business areas. One philosophy.
Our customers come from many different industries and have very different requirements. What they share is the need for a dependable partner who takes responsibility and supports complex tasks end to end.

In our Industrial Supply Solutions business area, we support international companies in healthcare, science and research with demanding procurement tasks, quality inspections, and production and supply chain services. Long product lifecycles, regulatory requirements and international supply chains demand technical understanding, experience, robust processes and a capable network in equal measure.

With our IT Solutions for SMBs, we support small and medium-sized businesses in the region and beyond. Managed services, modern IT infrastructure and personal support allow our customers to focus on their core business while we take responsibility for the reliable operation of their IT.

However different the requirements may be, our commitment remains the same: We develop solutions that work over the long term and give our customers confidence.
Rooted in the region. Connected internationally.
Our headquarters have been located on the historic Gerberei site in Erlangen since 1999. The building’s distinctive atmosphere, central location and established surroundings shape our day-to-day collaboration as much as our company culture.

Erlangen is one of Germany’s leading technology and healthcare hubs. As part of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region and Medical Valley, Erlangen offers a highly innovative environment with international companies, research institutions and universities. Our close links to industry, science and R&D have been part of MERLIN for many years and continue to shape our day-to-day work.

From here, we support small and medium-sized businesses in the region as well as international companies in healthcare, science and research. We see regional roots and international collaboration not as opposites, but as strengths that complement one another. Personal contacts, short lines of communication and long-term relationships are the foundation of how we work – whether a customer is a few kilometers away or several thousand.
Building on what works.
Technology continues to evolve. Regulatory requirements change. International supply chains are becoming more complex. At the same time, expectations around quality, transparency and security of supply are rising.

We see these developments not as obstacles, but as an incentive to keep improving our services. That is why we invest in employee development, expanding our expertise and continuously improving our processes. We also maintain close dialogue with customers, manufacturers and partners so we can identify new requirements early and develop viable solutions together.

Our goal remains unchanged: To create solutions that work not only today, but continue to give our customers confidence tomorrow.

For us, taking responsibility means creating solutions our customers can rely on today, tomorrow and for many years to come.
Partners
Viable solutions need a solid foundation. That is why MERLIN has relied for many years on a dependable partner network that has grown like a strong root system: widely connected, resilient and built on mutual trust.
That includes established distribution partners in Germany as well as close manufacturer partnerships in Europe, North America and Asia. This network is complemented by regional service providers and manufacturers with whom we often share more than a conventional business relationship – many of our partners are also MERLIN customers.
What sets these relationships apart is the trust built over time at management, project management and employee level. We work with partners whose support goes beyond price and availability, and who are there when questions, special cases or urgent challenges arise. We hold ourselves to the same standard: collaborative, fair and solution-focused – in the shared interests of our customers.
Team
Our team is shaped by a wide range of experience, perspectives and personalities. At MERLIN, technical expertise, commercial understanding, a strong quality mindset, international project experience and many years of hands-on experience in procurement, support and implementation come together.
This diversity creates broad expertise and a collaborative environment in which specialist professionals and experienced project coordinators contribute their respective strengths. This combination produces analytical processes, creative approaches and practical implementation.
The result is a team with broad professional expertise, strong personal cohesion and a shared focus on developing solutions that work in practice.
